Jake is a litigation associate in the Raleigh office focusing his practice in the areas of eminent domain/condemnation, construction, real estate, business and commercial disputes. He has experience working with both individuals and corporate clients. His approach seeks to balance aggressive advocacy with efficiency to ensure optimal results for clients that achieve their legal and business objectives. Jake represents clients in all phases of litigation, including depositions, court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trial. He is also experienced in appellate advocacy, handling appeals to the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
As an associate within the Eminent Domain practice group, Jake represents companies listed in the Fortune 100 and Fortune 500, large financial institutions, local businesses, real estate developers, retailers, lenders, and individuals throughout the design, acquisition, and construction process. He also has experience representing developers, contractors, and engineers in construction related disputes.
Jake was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an undergraduate, and Campbell University School of Law.
Outside of the office Jake enjoys spending time travelling or at the beach, trying out new restaurants, watching Tar Heel sports, or playing golf. He lives in Raleigh with his wife Emily and dog Beau.
